Guardian Managed Account Consent
Drive Tutor permits a parent or legal guardian to create and manage an account for a learner who is 16 or 17 years old. The guardian is the account holder and is responsible for account activity, communications, instructor selection, scheduling, safety decisions, and information submitted about the child.
Guardian Authority
The guardian confirms that they are the child's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise have lawful authority to act for the child. Drive Tutor may request evidence of identity, guardianship, or authority and may suspend the account if that authority cannot be confirmed.
Information Collected
Drive Tutor may collect the guardian's name, contact information, government identification, identity selfie, consent record, account activity, and the child learner's name, age, G1 or G2 licence information, availability, learning focus, pickup information, lesson records, progress and safety-related information.
The guardian must not upload unnecessary information about the child. The child must not independently access or operate the guardian-managed account.
Consent and Communications
The guardian consents to Drive Tutor collecting, using and disclosing the information necessary to operate the account, verify the guardian, connect the child with an instructor, schedule and document lessons, send transactional communications, investigate concerns, and administer safety and legal obligations.
Notifications and communications concerning the child are sent to the guardian. The guardian is responsible for reviewing lesson arrangements with the child and ensuring that the child understands appropriate safety and conduct expectations.
Instructor Relationship
Driving instruction is provided by independent instructors, not Drive Tutor. The guardian is responsible for deciding whether an instructor is appropriate and may independently verify an instructor's credentials. Drive Tutor's verification does not replace the guardian's judgment or guarantee lesson outcomes or safety.
Child's Interests and Transition
The guardian must use the account in the child's best interests and keep information accurate. When the learner reaches 18, Drive Tutor may require a transition to a learner-controlled account, updated consent, or reverification before continued use.
Withdrawal and Deletion
The guardian may withdraw consent or request account deletion. Withdrawal may cancel access to features that depend on the child's information. Records may be retained in accordance with Drive Tutor's Data Retention and Deletion Policy, including where necessary for safety, disputes, legal compliance, or the protection of the child.
