Account Deletion Policy
Users may request deletion through the Drive Tutor app or by contacting privacy@drivetutor.ca from the registered email address. Drive Tutor may take reasonable steps to verify identity and authority before processing the request.
Processing
Drive Tutor acknowledges privacy and deletion requests within 3 business days and targets a substantive response within 30 days. Complex, legal or third-party-dependent requests may take longer, in which case Drive Tutor will provide a status update where appropriate.
The account is restricted or deactivated during processing where appropriate. Upcoming arrangements may need to be addressed before deletion. Instructors should separately cancel subscription renewal; deleting an account does not by itself guarantee a refund.
Data Normally Deleted
Subject to retention exceptions, Drive Tutor deletes or anonymizes account credentials, current profile information, current profile photographs, device tokens, active availability, saved addresses, and other information no longer required to operate or defend the service.
Data That May Be Retained
Drive Tutor may retain limited information for the periods in its Data Retention and Deletion Policy, including subscription and tax records, verification and credential history, lesson records, guardian consent, safety reports, fraud and security records, privacy-request records, disputes and legal holds.
Where practical, retained records are minimized, separated from active account use, access-restricted, or anonymized. Drive Tutor will explain material retention applicable to the requesting user.
External and Guardian-Managed Learners
A guardian may request deletion of a guardian-managed account subject to verification of authority and retention obligations concerning the child. An external learner or guardian may request access, correction or deletion through the instructor or directly through privacy@drivetutor.ca.
Consequences
Completed deletion is permanent. Historical records may not be recoverable or transferable to a new account. A person who later returns may need to create a new account, accept current terms and complete verification again.
Complaints
Privacy complaints may be sent to privacy@drivetutor.ca or mailed to Drive Tutor Inc., 120 Adelaide St. W, Suite 2500, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Users may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where applicable.
